ACCOUNTANTS REQUESTED TO BE ON TIME WITH SZV DECLARATIONS AND PAYMENTS
SZV is currently upgrading the Employer Portal in order to improve efficiency for the use by registered accountants. The upgrades to the portal for accountants, is in consultation with a small pilot group. Until then, several alternatives have been put in place to accommodate this group, ensuring that declarations and payments are processed on time. In order to maintain these arrangements and efficiency in processing by SZV, registered accountants and employers in general, are encouraged to submit their declarations and payments several days in advance. “Visiting SZV offices on the day of the deadline, just before office closing hours of 3:30 pm is a risk. Efficient and timely processing is hampered when we receive declarations and payments at such last minute.”
Not complying to the obligation of declaring and paying on time can result in the levying of assessments. All employers are encouraged to submit and pay before the 15th of each month in order to avoid fines issued by SZV. This is in accordance to the Federal Ordinance for Sickness and Accident Insurance. Employers are encouraged to make use of the 24/7 online declaration and payment option available via the Employer Portal on www.szv.sx. Online payment is encouraged by SZV; both of these options reduce the need to visit SZV offices and allow companies to be more efficient with their time.
