All recipients of an AOV and AWW pension benefit, who are permanently residing outside of Sint Maarten, or continuously leave Sint Maarten for more than 3 to 6 months, have to submit a Life Certificate to ensure continuation of their monthly pension benefits payments.

For persons residing in the Dutch Kingdom, SZV’s pension policy demands a Life Certificate twice per year. The calendar year periods in which the pensioner should validate and submit their Life Certificate are: between November 15th up and until December 15th and between May 15th up and until June 15th. Once the Life Certificate is submitted in accordance with the above mentioned period the pensioner will receive their monthly pension benefits over the period covered by their Life Certificate. If the Life Certificate is submitted late, the pension benefits will be temporarily discontinued (blocked) and payments will be delayed.

For persons residing outside of the Dutch Kingdom, SZV’s pension policy demands a Life Certificate every 3 months. The Calendar year periods in which the pensioner should validate and submit their Life Certificate are between February 15th up and until March15th, between May 15th up and until June 15th; between August 15th up and until September15th; and between November 15th up and until December 15th.
