Pregnancy & Maternity Leave for Employees
As of October 1, 2022, the National Ordinance Labour agreement of October 21, 2021, will go into effect (publication numbers: AB 2021, no. 64 and AB 2022, no. 44).
Based on article 629a of this new law, a female employee is entitled to full (100%) paid leave due to pregnancy and childbirth for a period of sixteen (16) weeks.
Attention: As a result of this new law, the SZV procedures to report Pregnancy and Maternity leave have been adjusted. These procedures are available by clicking here.
Note: Up until September 30, 2022, the total period for paid pregnancy and maternity leave was twelve (12) weeks. If you already have an SZV approved pregnancy and maternity leave and have questions about this, contact us via info@szv.sx.
