CORRECTION: 2023 AOV/AWW Pension Amounts & Pay Days
Orginal Publication January 3, 2023: The indexation of the amounts for 2023 was based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of the second quarter of 2021 (2.84%) and the second quarter of 2022 (4.91%). The CPI was calculated by the Department of Statistics (STAT).
Social & Health Insurances SZV pays the AOV/AWW pension amounts in advance – before the 1st of the month, which means that the payment for the January 2023 pension month was paid in December 2022. As a result, the increase of amounts will be processed retroactively and included in the payment of the February 2023 pension month which is scheduled to take place on January 30, 2023.
CORRECTION January 29, 2023: Contrary to the statement issued by SZV on January 3, 2023, the payment of the increased AOV/AWW pension amounts cannot take place on January 30, 2023. As executing agency, SZV will only be able to process and pay out the increased amounts once article 7, sub 3 of the national decree (in Dutch: Landsverordering) containing general measures has been adjusted and published in the National Gazette. The publication of the adjusted National Decree is projected to take place in the second quarter of this year, with retroactive payment to pensioners from January 1, 2023.
In the meantime, recipients of AOV and AWW pension payments will continue to receive their monthly pension based on the 2022 amounts, which are paid in advance, following the monthly payment schedule available on www.szv.sx. Pensioners, stakeholders, and payroll administrators are advised to take note of the pending adjusted 2023 amounts available on www.szv.sx and prepare for processing once the adjusted decree has been published.
