Employee Registration
Do you have a company with employees operating in Sint Maarten? By law, all private sector employers must register their company with SZV. An employer can be a natural person (such as an individual, called a sole proprietor with employees) or a legal entity (such as a corporation, an N.V., or a B.V.). You are an employer if you employ one (1) or more persons, meaning that they work for your company and receive a wage.
There are two possibilities for a company to employ persons, and they are as follows:
- You are established in Sint Maarten, and your employees work for you in Sint Maarten
- You are established in Sint Maarten, and your employees work for you outside of Sint Maarten
- You are a foreign company with a representative in Sint Maarten and have employees working for you in Sint Maarten
